Writer based in Chicago.

Brett Dworski's pursuits have led him to become an editor for an award-winning convenience-store publication, an iO Chicago-trained screenwriter, a mediocre disc golfer, and the owner of a Honda Civic.

He once sampled crickets while profiling their potential to become the "snack of the future.” They were uninspiring, he said.

Brett has written about many things for a variety of companies in a variety of industries. Most recently, he was a senior writer and editor for Attentive—a personalized text message marketing platform—where he wrote and edited long-form articles, podcast ads, website copy, Google and social ads, and more about the world of mobile marketing.

Before Attentive, Brett was a senior content writer for ZS Associates—a Chicago-based healthcare consultancy—where he wrote thought-leadership articles, social content, and event recaps about clinical trials and Big Pharma. He was also the lead producer and editor for ZS’s inaugural podcast series, Reinventing Customer Experience.

Prior to ZS, Brett was a reporter and editor for the B2B news publication, Convenience Store & Petroleum (CSP) Magazine, where he covered foodservice innovation, labor, cannabis regulation, and mergers and acquisitions. Brett also founded, hosted, and produced CSP’s inaugural podcast, At Your Convenience. He will forever know more about roller-grill hot dogs and private-label snacks than any human should.

As a food and healthcare writer, Brett’s work has also appeared in Restaurant Business Magazine, Foodservice Director Magazine, and Chicago Health Magazine.

To flex his creative muscles, Brett runs banter., a website dedicated to sports, pop culture and food, and he occasionally dabbles in fiction. He is a lifelong lover of movies and has analyzed film for Screen Rant, All The Right Movies, Literate Ape, and other websites. Brett is also the co-founder and producer of Butterless Popcorn, a quirky and insightful podcast about movies.

Brett has many obsessions, including the NBA and NFL, craft beer, crewneck sweatshirts, films from the 1970s, tacos al pastor, his loved ones, ripe watermelon, A Tribe Called Quest, Stephen King novels, and squeezing his toothpaste from the bottom of the tube. But mayonnaise, flimsy grocery bags, country music, the Green Bay Packers, waiting in long lines, and peeling hard-boiled eggs drive him crazy.
